This session included
presenters Chankil Park of Ewha Womans
University, Umi Proboyekti of Duta Wacana
Christian University, Indonesia, and Joel Yuvienco, Miriam College, Philippines. Umi, seeing that we needed a break, began her presentation by giving us a new kind of digital challenge –
testing the coordination of our thumbs and pinkies as we hummed the tune she'd just taught us! (It's harder than you think! Try sticking your left pinkie finger and your right thumb to the left. Then, the opposite - try pointing your left thumb and your right pinkie to the right.) Thanks, Umi!
Chankil’s presentation featured the
English Portal Asia, a database that is part of the Brain Korea Project. It is a comprehensive database of resources on English language, literature, and linguistics.
Umi described the government-funded project in Yogyakarta that has enabled several university libraries to share resources.
Joel Yuvienco spoke knowingly
and lovingly of Web 2.0 , folk knowledge, folksonomy,
twitter, and edu20.org. Joel, you're being followed!
